1993

On the UK railways, 1993 saw a gradual reduction of freight traffic and loss of motive power variety right across the network with the sectors insuring only small batches of locos working small batches of services. One high spot was the start of the long rumoured diagramming of Class 37s to the North Wales coast passenger turns and that summer was also the one and only time those locos had a booked passenger turn through my local area.

The RailGenArchive website has once again been expanded to also include coverage of the year 1993. So now the site covers the range of years 1970- 1993 and the archive contains 339338 records. Further expansion into other years to follow...

Our intention is to feature all areas of the BR network and all loco classes without bias to our own personal tastes, and where that is not the case this is entirely a reflection of the info we've been supplied with and NOT intentional, so if you feel that your favourite locos or local area is currently under represented then please get in touch and share your records with us. Also please let us know when you spot errors or disagree with workings shown so that we can look into it and using our skill and judgement amend as necessary. If you have any information relating to loco hauled passenger workings over BR that we don't already feature, then please Contact Us either via email or the contact form provided on the main site, or use the box at the foot of this page. We can handle gen in any digital format, all years welcome.

Many thanks for all your help and support so far.
